We started to play this game when little Bear was around four years old. I made a map of our living room with all furnitures, rugs etc. and marked for him how to reach a little treasure. After a while he found it more interesting to draw the map himself and hide a little treasure for me.
It is such a great play, he practices to "read maps", see the three dimensional world and make a 2D map of it and drawing in general.
