Today we learned about numbers and math with coins. Collected one of each Swiss Francs and we put them in ascending order. Little Bear's first question was why there is no 3 Franc coins. So we took some more coins to the table to play shopkeeper pretend game. First little Bear figured out how he can pay with the coins the 3 Francs, then 4 Francs etc all up to 10 Francs, figuring out all the combinations he could use coins to pay. Then little Bear was the shopkeeper and had to calculate how much he has to return if I pay with 5 Francs or two pieces of 5 Francs. Because we played a pretend game, he did not even realise that we practice addition and subtraction. At one point we took a 10 Francs note, and this led to so many discoveries, that we will cover this in another post.
