Pizza for Grand-Mother's day

This year on Mother's Day we are far away from the grandparents.

Little Bear has worked on a nice drawing with flowers for his grandmothers, but when we prepared our sourdough bread, came the idea to bake a 'Grandmother's Day Pizza". We have seen beautifully decorated sourdough bread and focaccia on the internet, so we came up with the idea of decorating a pizza with vegetable flowers.

Little Bear - just like most kids - loves to be involved in baking when it comes to kneading, squeezing, poking, pinching the dough.

For the decoration we just looked through what we had at home: bell peppers, tomatoes, spring onions, cauliflowers, radishes, cranberries, corn, carrot, cashews, pine nuts and fresh oregano. There must be plenty of other ingredients you can find at home and use, if you would like to try this at home!

We also had a bit of fun preparing a stop motion video with the ingredients. ( Look for our post 'Make an animation film in 10 minutes!' . Literally, you can do it in 10 minutes without any previous knowledge of how to...)

First Little Bear has created some flower arrangements made of the vegetables on a cutting board, where it is easy to create and re-create and play around a bit. Once he was happy with the result, placed the flowers nicely on the pizza. With a little help, 'grandma' got also written on the pizza (in Hungarian).

So this year the picture of the pizza with a nice video message is ready to surprise grandmothers, before a call to them in the morning of Mothers' Day.
